Rotary MA Festival (May 16th)

Templegate dojo have been invited to take part in a martial arts demonstration of 12 different styles taking place on the 16th of May.
It is being organised by Rotary International in support of two charities: Dorothy House Hospice Care and Mentoring Plus.

Cardiff Spring Course (10th-11th April)
There will be a weekend course held in Cardiff this April taught by Bernard Harding Sensei (6th Dan, NAF National Coach). This year is a special year for Aikido Gakko Ueshiba, as it is the 40th year that our own Bernard Harding Sensei has been practicing Aikido. To mark the occasion this course will be held on:
Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th April
Times are:
Saturday 2.00pm - 5.00pm
Sunday 10.00am - 2.00pm
The course will cost £20 for the weekend. As usual there will be a meal arranged for the Saturday evening.
There are a limited number of spaces available on the course. To ensure there is enough room for everyone to train safely we are asking for a refundable £10 deposit (payable in advance).
To book a place and for any other enquiries, please contact the club secretary Richard Belcher. To pay the deposit (and also to find out about how to pay) please contact the club treasurer Ian Rees.
When booking, it would be appreciated if you could indicate whether you have a preference for going to the meal or not. For details on how to reach us, please go to the 'Venue and Times' section of our website (www.aikidocardiff.org.uk)
Please remember to bring along proof of insurance.

January Open Course 30th/31st January

Happy New Year! A new year and a new set of upcoming courses (see the Diary page for more dates). The first course this year will be at the end of this month, taught by Mike Narey on the Saturday the 30th from 14:00 til 17:00 and Sunday the 31st from 10:00 til 13:00.
The course is open to students of all grades and associations, if you're planning on visiting from a different association could you drop us a quick email at contact@templegatedojo.org.uk so we have an idea of numbers.

Just a quick thank you to everyone who attended this weekends winter Course.
As always its a pleasure to see so many friends gathered together to celebrate the excellent year that we have enjoyed.
Also great to see some new faces alongside the veterans. I hope the inclusion of the 6th kyu gradings made the day even better!

On 17th/18th October 2009 the following people successfully graded.
Congratulations to all those who graded! Thanks go to the panel for running the grading side of things, to Daren for taking a very enjoyable course on both days and of course to everyone who came along to be part of the day both on the mat training and off the mat preparing and assisting in making the days run smoothly. As always; please give any feedback you have via the forum, if you think things need to be looked at differently or could be improved upon we are always interested to hear.
Don't forget the one day course on the 5th December 14:00-17:00. There will the usual social side after; getting some food and going for a drink in the evening.
